A Correction and Let's Go Ride A Bike

Holy Sh*t! I have EIGHT followers! My bold apologies to my previous post where I thought I had only four. My deepest regrets. Sneaky little followers ;)

Also - Trish who writes on the biking blog Let's Go Ride A Bike with Dotty, did a post on our biking at The Biltmore House. Check it out! I am international baby! Well, just really in the biking world for a brief moment ;)

Upcoming Week!!! Fasten your Seat Belts!

I have been a slacker with the blog! Sorry to all of my very loyal and patient followers! Wait! Great Scott – What? I have only FOUR followers!?!?! Whatever.I have taken so many pictures and I am very lazy to get them up. But I have over 600 pictures and I need to get them off of my card and in another type of media so they won’t be lost forever!

Posts to come later on this week:

My Aunt Linda and UH’s surprise 45th wedding anniversary.
A trip to Ave Maria Grotto with my Aunt Connie while she was visiting from Pittsburgh.
Also where I sang Ave Maria like a superstar the entire time I was there. Fred Astaire and his new hair cut!
A trip to visit with Almita in Denver!
A weekend at the lake with some Auburn Girls.
A week in Western North Carolina and a trip to Biltmore!

And I am sure some other randomness thrown in for good times!

Peace out –

Lake Martin - AquaPalooza

I didn't go to AquaPalooza this year since I was out of town but I heard it was a lot of fun.

I was on Yahoo News today and I saw a picture of a boat-load of boats and turns out the picture is an air shot of Lake Martin's last weekend. Apparently Alan Jackson is the headliner.
A LOT OF BOATS!

Photo taken from the AP. More than 4,000 boats and 35,000 people attended Alan Jackson's headline performance at Sea Ray AquaPalooza Signature Event on Lake Martin, Ala., on July 25. The fourth annual event is the world's largest "party on the water," and open to all boaters. Photo courtesy of Dave Witty.(PRNewsFoto/Sea Ray, Dave Witty)

I am not really one for country music - but had I been in town and someone else was resposible for the boat - I probably would have checked it out! Then complained b.c it was hot and then complain some more b.c you probably couldn't get out of that lake spot easily and then I would have suffered the heat in silence. Kidding. You all know I don't suffer in silence! haha!

Okay - I haven't posted much in a while - I will write another post shortly on what to expect post-wise this coming week ;)

Guess what city this is?!?!

What? You mean you don't know?
Jacksonville Florida people. I know! Anyway - I was there for just a ride and back and there was just enough time to hit the beach for an hour or two. It was super lovely!

Snuggie Wuggie? Anyone?

Today I visited Gawker and found that on the main page - there is a post about 'the snuggie' with a bonus Collegiate Edition.

Classy.

I actually heard about this yesterday while listening to The Roundtable on Jox. Don't ask me why I listen to the sports show during my 5 minute commute to work on my lunch break. They make me laugh. I just wasn't expecting to see Gawker covering it and then placing Auburn and Alabama together. I hope to never see an Auburn Snuggie - it is just the epitome of wastefull spending.

On Sunday Rachel and the Gang came to Birmingham to see the Dinosaur Exhibit at the BJCC. Rachel and the new Babe Jules hung out at Amy's moms house, Mrs. Guess, while the rest of the fam went to see the exhibit. I went over to the Guess house to visit!

Last Weekend

I forgot to post last week!

I can't remember much of last weekend, not that it was crazy wild - just that I forget what I had for lunch most days. But I do remember that I went to see a band with my friend Jaime on Saturday night at the Iron Horse (I think the band name was Lylm?). It was a cover band and they played some original tunes as well, but it was the Dixie Land Delight song that really earned my respect! The very tall and super skinny/lanky lead vocal and guitarist came out with a fiddle and rocked it! He was very fun! He also played the very begining of Sweet Child O Mine with the guitar behind his head. I love Guns N Roses.

Rocking out on the Fiddle and a classic GNR shirt. He reminded me of Russel Brand.

Sunday afternoon I took Fred Astaire to the dog park to play for a bit. On the way home I spotted this crazy cloud formation that looked like Mt. Saint Helen or something.

Anyway - I am sure it was an excellent weekend ;)

Week 1 of Couch to 5K

Greetings!
Kristi and I tried to do our 2nd day on Wednesday but nasty rain prevented that. So we set out yesterday (Thursday) with Fred Astaire in tow. He was really unenthusiastic about the whole 'running' thing. Someone on the trail even said 'that dog looks like he doesn't want to be here'! Fred Astaire!? What happened? I really think it is the leash thing. Because he REALLY LOVES to go to the park or out hiking and has no issues with it.

Anyway - Kristi and I are going to go again tonight after work and I will leave Fred Astaire at home this time - he needs his rest :) It is raining now - but hopefully things will clear up before 5pm! Wish us luck!

My new massive watch that has a stop-watch attached. $9 at Walmart. And yes, I am still ashamed for shopping at the Big Box.

Day One

Well.....tonight after work Kristi and I met to do Day One of the Couch to 5K. I forgot to bring the minutes so we just winged it from what I could remember. It kicked my butt - I was totally out of breath after each run! And poor little Fred Astaire was barely keeping up with each run - I don't think he likes running on a leash b.c I know Fred Astaire can keep up! He is always the leader on our hikes!
Anyway - after it was all said and done I am glad that I did it and look forward to Wednesday's run/walk!

Peace -
